Along the lines of preserving pieces of that era, I've been piddling around with moving some of the old music onto more durable (digital) media. It's not really a perfect system and the results are only as good as the old trashed demo tapes and stuff that I've got. The point is that once I've managed to get them on a CD, the sound quality won't degrade any. What I'd like to know, does anyone have any decent recordings from that time period that they think would be worth preserving this way?. Most of my tapes are not only old, they've had pretty rough lives as well so aren't really good candidates for this. Does anyone have any opinion as to whether this is a good idea or just hopeless?
