He has a funny way with words..

Regarding the sale of 6 US port facilitys to the UAE controled company Bush is quoted as saying:

"This deal wouldn't go forward if we were concerned about the security of the United States of America"

There is a couple of ways to read that isn't there?

I think what a lot of people are neglecting to consider is that these properties are (already) privately owned by foreign companies. If that British company wants to sell these properties to the UAE companies, I don't see how the US has legal grounds to block the transaction. I have heard some go so far as to say the US should annex the properties and lease it to American companies (like Kellogg, Brown and Root GASP(Halliburton)). To do that would be an example of the worst abuses of imminent domain.

Although it is questionable as to why the Maritime Commission would approve the contract in half of the allotted time (45 day) of a full review. It sure as hell is a brownnose deal, or reward, for an ally in the Middle East. UAE companies own lots of properties in the US. I think the last thing those guys want is some fanatic to jeopardise their financial interests.

Ever heard of Aramco? The UAE is NOT Saudi Arabia or the Bin Ladens... duh.

While it bothered me to hear the president go to a Democratic dirty trick on Monday. (the race card) The knee-jerk reaction all across the board smacks of good old fashioned American Xenophobia. The ignoramuses on both sides are beating the drums of racism without bothering to find out what this really all about.

One more point...
The first thing that caught my attention about this that I thought it was a bad deal, was Jimmy Carters endorsement. But then it occured to me.
Jimmy Carter is anti-union.
That UAE company wont have control over security, or the coast guard, or the port authorities or trade sanctions or Dept of Homeland Security or any of the countless checks and balances we already have in place.
The owners simply own the peirs and make money from service charges off the cargo that is unloaded there. (pretty sweet fuckin deal IMHO)
They would control who works there though... and they might not want union bullys. .. Cause after all, labor unions are associated with cronyism.

Ok, so we know Monkeyboy is all in favor of turning over port control to a country with ties to Bin Laden.

It's like George said, if he was concerned with our nation's security this deal would never go thru.

Since he has approved this deal, it must be clear to all that he is not concerned with our nation's security. This should have been apparent when he ignored the memo that said "Bin Laden determined to attack the US with aircraft."

How exactly would seizing the properties in question be an abuse of imminent domain? To secure the United States from terrorist supporting nations sounds like a great use of imminent domain to me! That's the exact sort of thing we should use imminent domain for. Or do you right wingers think it should only be used to seize grandma's house to build hotels on?

As to union cronyism, the Bush adminsitration wouldn't know anything about that would they Mr Brown?

Bill..
I never said I was in favor of this. I was only pointing out that all this fuss is really about a situation where the US really has no LEGAL cause to interfere.

If you bothered to read my posts and engage your brain instead of reacting emotionally you would probably say I'm right. Instead you choose the path of rumormongering and heresay, flipping over stones and shouting "CONSPIRACY!" every time you see a lichen and then pouting like a child.

Time to call momma into the room to change your diaper.

I went back and re-read you posts Bill. I swear, you are a like a fucking woman with PMS...
Although you are well read (you have that blacks law dictionary at the ready afterall) you dont have a proper perspective on the things that matter.

Grow some nuts and stop shooting your protectors in the back.

Well Monkeyboy, the ports would appear to be inside the United States, which would seem to give the US jurisdiction. If having jurisdiction isn't enough for you, how about our nation's security? Is that reason enough to interfere for ya? Of course with you neocons you have your heads so far up Dick and George's asses that you can't see anything wrong with turning over ports to countrys that have ties to Bin Laden. But then again, to you guys, Dick Cheney is a great shot, George Bush is a man of moral character, and Bob Novak can give out all the CIA agents names that he wants as long as it is to protect the President from being called a liar.

Interesting that as soon as someone calls the republican party to count for the harm it is doing to this country you guys start slinging shit. Is that why you go by "Monkeyboy"? Because you can only eat, scratch your head, and fling pooh?

BTW poohflinger, why does the agreement allow the purchaser to not keep records on site where they would fall under subpoena? Do you think all foreign companies working in the US should be outside the power of the US courts, or just those from countries that have ties to Bin Laden?

Now I'm part of the conspiracy... This is priceless.
Kim Jong Bill thinks I am a NEOCON? Bill, I am not an Israeli or a Republican for that matter. If you are going to call people names know what they are first.
You keep bringing up points that I dismissed in the very first post. This theme of repetition that you embrace is glaring to the bystander. Josef Goebbels would be proud indeed. You would have made a great NAZI Bill. Just keep repeating yourself until it becomes truth.

monkeyfist, you started this thread and you shouldn't end it by fucking around with bill. anyhow
imminent domain- fuck that.
these are our borders- you know, the place where the salt water meets the ground- what we really need to defend.

see my next post for some answers to the remainder of your horseshit.

as for "Just keep repeating yourself until it becomes truth." sounds like a repug-lickin' mantra.

as for being drunk: wtf?

and so you know, bill doesn;t have access to my book of law.

Is Bill such a powerhouse, bigshot that nobody need offend him? Is that to be taken as a threat? I have had the grandaddy of all psychos threaten me with death and all I can say is "come on with it."

Obviously Bill cant defend his lunacy so you have to jump in. Quick! Change that diaper while you are still a lactating wet nurse. You NAZI bootlicker.

Not really, but it isn't hard to whip your ass mentally, as your posts have made abundantly clear.

And I have my own law books. Tons of them, although I am sure that TNT would share is I asked real nice!

sorry mf 777.

bill can affirm that we are NOT the same person...

i agree with you on one o point:
yes, bill started this post, and he was merely making a point regarding how the words one chooses while forming sentences delivered to the press corps(for our argument, the one in question is the president of the united states) in defending a policy position can be otherwise understood to reveal underlying (sublime sometimes) and possible REAL meaning.

i know nothing of imminent domain and the emminent response was delivered by ralph.

my feeling is that accusing someone of commenting under the influence is not a good way to defend your facist view.

and moreover, I am a double supreme smartass with anchovies, and you obviously dont know much worthwhile about folks from upper-east tennessee.

and if you think bush is correct in any policy(your choice), I have one more question:

why are you blogging whe there is so much defending to do on the ground in iran or some other worthwhile domian? they will even give you ammo.

Alright people. Here's the deal.
First and foremost I want to say I am sorry for the extreme harshness of some of my replies and name calling this past weekend. I was was bored and had a few Jack and cokes, got belligerant with a couple of the members here. They did not deserve it.

To clear the air about me and what I am doing here. You regulars know who I am. I used to live in JC and made the rounds among the band scene in 88-90 primarily Stinky and the Nightmares... Punch and Judy, Skull soup etc. If you saw Spangler, then you probably saw me. I went by the name Cleve. That is not my name but, if it was good enough for my family, then it was how I wanted to be known by all of you. The Monkeyfist name was something whipped up in haste, Brook if you can tell me how to change this that'd be cool.

I have not set foot in Johnson City for 17 years now and only recently visited JC briefly and the experience was really fucked up.

Now, so all of you know. Also know that I am NOT a Republican. I am neither a Democrat. I lean conservative on some things and lean Liberal on some things too. I used to think that the Bush people needed some defense in the "blog o' sphere" but this administration has just gotten impossible to defend. It's just not possible anymore. If I could type 150 WPM and had the patience to split hairs all day and counter every post... I still wouldn't have the energy.

So Bill and Tony I hope you accept my apology and quit calling me a right winger.

Oh, and the grandaddy of all psychos was a guy who lived in JC that my buddy Sheldon knew called "Peanut". He was a hardcore lysol drinking guy. He used to sip that lysol and start swatting his dick with a fly swatter. (I only saw him do that shit once) He threatened to kill me and Sheldon... The first of many to do so, but he died of liver failure.

I seem to be a magnet for the psychotic.

Apology accepted.

But even if you change your name can we still call you "poohflinger"?

If you run into your lysol drinking psycho again tell him it is more effciant to just swat flies with yer dick. You can leave out the fly swatter that way.

Call me whatever you want just not anything associated with a Bush waterboy.

The controversies are now so frequent and damning (and believable) that I actually see him and the veep resigning before next summer. I was optimistic that all the rhetoric swirling around was only that. Now it seems the pandoras box is open and if their hands are dirty, I will see these people go with a sigh of relief.

I, just for once, would like to see a president that is universally admired for not catering to special interests, corporate manipulation and divisive "us vs. them" pandering. I hoped it would be differant this time.

Peanut has been pushing up the daisys for about 17 years now. Sheldon actually went to the funeral, because I think he was a doing a relative of his.
